Owner-operated
I’m Alex.
I run The Squirrel's Friend Landscaping out of Lakewood Ranch. Anyone can cut grass. What you’re actually paying for is whether the edges got done, whether the driveway got blown clean, and whether anyone noticed the hedge was starting to get away from you.
This is what I do full time. Same properties, same days, and a standard that doesn’t move — because it’s my name on the trailer.
The standard
The difference is in the parts people skip.
The edges are the tell
Anyone can mow. The line between turf and bed is where you can see whether someone was paying attention or just getting through the list.
Nothing gets away from you
Hedges and shrubs kept in shape, bed weeds pulled, seasonal work handled before it turns into a project. You shouldn’t have to ask.
You get me, not a rotation
It's my name on the trailer, so I'm on every yard. You'll know who's coming and you'll recognize the truck.
Since you asked
Why the squirrel?
Her name is Boston. She’s my dog, she has never caught a squirrel in her life, and she owns roughly a million stuffed ones.
So the name is a joke at her expense. She stays home — you won’t meet her on the route — but she’s the reason there’s a squirrel on the truck.
On the route
If you see the truck, that’s me in it.
Licensed & insured, and happy to send the paperwork before the first visit if you want to see it.
- Lakewood Ranch — where most of the route sits
- Sarasota
- Bradenton

Service areas
Three areas, done properly.
Keeping the route tight is what makes same-day-every-week possible. I’d rather cover three areas well than five badly.
Nothing gets out of hand.
